JC Penny Rewards Card

Probably a stupid question, but I bought an 8 $80 something jacket from the store and lady behind the counter said I could save money by signing up for a jc Penny's reward/credit card.

Went through the process (and paid with a Debit card if that matters), she manually put in $35,000 on a screen input that I couldn't read because her hand was in the way.

Did I screw up somehow? I don't want to imagine I'll have to actually pay anything, since I don't go to JC Penney a lot anyways I just wanted to save on the jacket. I'll mention that the receipt says I got discount but my bank app says I still paid the full amount.
