New to extraction games. How do you decide what to scrap and what to keep?

This is my first game of this type. How do determine what to break down into different components and what to keep intact? For example, I have a HDD and I can break it down but should I? I also have things like bleach and windows cleaner. Do I break them down into plastics? I have a couple of tools? like scissors and a screw driver. Is there any way to tell what is best to do with items in the game that I might be over looking? Thanks!
