I love this game, but I would love it even more with proper duos

Hi. To be clear I really enjoy this game, racked up about 20 hours now and I'm level 22 ish. I've played every map extensively on trios and solos and while I do enjoy solos, it is really frustrating that I am essentially forced to play with a random or go against a larger team almost always if I want to play with my friend.

I've seen some speculation that duos does have priority matchmaking for duos, but that doesn't really seem to be the case, at least not on the same level as trios and solos. I've tried playing duos and have only come across another duo one singular time, every other fight has been a 2v3. I've played solos and have never once come across a matchmade trio or duo.

I've also seen people argue that this would splinter the playerbase and I genuinely don't quite understand this argument. I played the test way back in may which absolutely did have duo priority matchmaking alongside trio and solo matchmaking and not once did I have any issue finding a lobby, and considering that test had like a fraction of the players we have right now, the splintering the base argument just doesn't really make sense, in my opinion.

I really enjoy solos but trios I just don't have fun in. Randoms constantly throw themselves at rocketeers or shoot every ARC they see and when we drop a random and go 2v3 we always get outmatched constantly. Meanwhile on solos I have yet to lose a single pvp fight and I'm genuinely having an amazing time. I think duos would be the perfect mix between solos and trios. Not too much ratting like in solos, but not too much TDM / BR fights which I feel like I constantly run into when playing trios.

I'm genuinely unsure why Embark opted to remove duos between the may test and the server slam, but the lack of it is probably my biggest gripe with the game right now. Not everyone has two friends to play with, and not everyone wants to flip a coin every time they get a random that might just run off and do their own thing or shoot every ARC they see.
