Why do all the pistols feel weak compared to the M44

I understand pistols being weaker then primaries but I feel that the semi auto pistols, in my opinion, have pretty disappointing performance in comparison to the M44. The M44 just kills so much faster to a greater range then any of the other pistols.

Ive played mostly bf1 before this so I dont know if this is just how pistols are balanced in battlefield games or something
