Will my top tube be damaged if I sit on it while throttling?

For a while to travel a short distance (think a couple of feet), I’ve been sitting on the top tube of my Aventon Soltera just throttling. I heard that sitting on the top tube could compromise the triangle as aluminum tube kind of work like a soda can, strong vertically but not on its sides. Also it’s not like I’m commuting to work like this, but for example throttling across an intersection knowing I would need to wait for another light is when I might do this. Am I ok to continue doing this? For context I weigh 170.
