Has anyone ever lost their SD?

I've been taking mine to university with me and before I leave any place the classroom, a train I HAVE to open up my bag, open the case and be certain it's still their because I'm terrified of losing it. It got me wondering has anyone ever lost their SD? How? Did you get it back?
