What did I come back to…

Former partner who just got rehired… I was with the company from 2014-2016 and absolutely loved it then. I just finished some accelerated training (was on the floor solo day three with supervision) today was day 5. Someone called off so it was 4 of us running morning peak, I remember having up to 10 people in the mornings for peak. My store is much slower than my old one but it’s still wild how shifts aren’t staggered which made so many more issues. There was a point where it was just myself and my shift, that was it. Once it was 1pm 3 of the night shift workers walked in at once (one came in early) so they were scheduled to be understaffed.

When I left the company I went on to manage restaurants, corporate and ma and pop and the way I always managed was leading by example, I would bend over backwards to make sure my staff felt supported and we had an amazing work environment because of it. I’m very picky about the way people manage because I know it’s entirely possible to be strict and still be likable. I’m just dumbfounded what the company has become. I was scared to come back as my first week was when all the layoffs happened too. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed so I can get my ASU degree and take full advantage of the 18 weeks maternity leave. I only came back for those two perks.
