Fine hair + sew in extensions

Have any of yall had a good experience with weft extensions? I had them for like 2 months and I couldn’t stand them. They hurt and itched my scalp. Now that I’ve had them removed, I’ve realized my hair type is fine and I just had a lot of strands. I’ve lost some density from the wefts but nothing major.

I used Kevin Murphy’s moisture line with the extensions, and pureology’s hydrate line prior to getting the wefts. I’m not sure that either of those are best for fine hair. What products do yall recommend?
