Voicemail menus that put "send this message" at the end
It's just so stupid. How long have we had voicemail? 25-30 years, right? And programmers design the menus. And programmers know that when you have a multiple-choice switch (If A, do this; if B, do that; if C, do the other) you put the most frequently true choice first so your program doesn't waste its time evaluating conditions that probably aren't true.
What do we want to do 95% of the time when we leave a voicemail? Do we want to listen to it, re-record it, cancel it, hear about all the other wonderful things we could do with it -- or just send the damn thing?
And look how I just made you read all those rarely-picked choices before giving you the one you probably wanted. Pretty annoying, huh?
It's stupid on both ends. It wastes our time, or forces us to remember every VM system's menu. It wastes the phone companies' resources. It's just stupid, stupid, stupid.
