19F: Is it a good to date short-term with (20M)?

Hi, I just want genuine advice I’m 19F, and recently i’ve been talking to 20M. This is my first time ever talking to a boy romantically, I approached him, and I really really like him.

But the issue is, he is muslim and I am not, and our families both would probably never accept us due to this religion difference, and sometimes I get a bit worried seeing the low success rates in inter-faith relationships. I see an extremely low to impossible chance of us probably progressing towards marriage (if that’s the long-term goal)

I was wondering, is it wise to consider dating him short-term? I’ve never had a boyfriend and I was genuinely excited to date him, but this issue is like a hurdle and I have genuinely no idea.

Would dating short-term be risky in this case? Would this be “hurtful” for us both?
