Furnished Finder apartment address shows up on sex offender registry….

I have the citizen app installed on my phone with an alert radius for my current location (I started this after a shooting at a hospital I was on assignment at….). I’ve been getting the usual “sex offender within” distance alerts. Today it’s telling me 400 feet, like that’s real close for comfort. I’ve put my address into the state’s sex offender registry and set the radius as small as possible but it wasn’t bringing up any hits with this first name. Citizen charges for premium, but whatever, $6/mo, I’ll bite.

It’s my apartment. According to public records my landlord bought it in 2023. The sex offender has been arrested multiple times for failure to register (and has a lifetime registration requirement).

I’m not extending this assignment for a third contract. As a solo female traveler, I feel unsafe seeing an address I’m using as a residence listed under a child sex offender’s name.

Moral: Bring your own door security bars and security cameras. My landlord did not disclose anything about the address coming up on a registry and I didn’t dig deep enough before moving here.
