Removing Gmail

I'm sorry if my problem has been solved elsewhere, please point me to the post if it has been.

When I created my proton account, I believe I made it using gmail. I want to remove gmail entirely, when I go to login I can use gmail or my proton email. I DO NOT want that, I want gmail completely gone from my account and separate. I am a bit confused on how to do that so it'd be a huge help if someone knows of a good tutorial.
