Anime only

Honestly I don't go to theaters much but this is the best movie I have watched. Despite God tier animation, fight and directing, the story/writting, music, the emotion is actually what I love the most, so much I would call this a tragic story over romance or action.

I would also say Reze is the main character of this movie and this is about her tragedy.

When she stopped marching and started running towards the Cafe to see denji in the corridor i started to tear up real bad. Honestly if I didn't get spoiled she would die I wouldn't cry here but it didn't take away any emotion, at least I didn't get spoiled how she would die, only know she would.

The reveal of her past really breaks me espeically when she said she also never went to school. She brought him to school to show him what he missed out but it was her first time trying to experience what it feels like at school too.

When I'm thinking back the pool scene is actually so sad and the sea scene echoing it was sad . They are just innocent kids. reze saying "Everything was fake" and denji "You taught me how to swim" is so strong, implying "not everything was fake".

What breaks me the most is they share the same fate of a poor childhood, denji being broke and reze emotionless. Denji was able to escape it, to get back what he missed, having friends, food shelter. But as soon as reze did, learning about emotions and love she dies.

Denji never got to know about reze, to him she was just another girl that manipulated him and tried to get his heart...

At the end no one understood reze. despite how parallel denji was to her he never got to know.

Reze died alone.

Whats keeping me hurt is unlike denji she never got to live the life she missed
But the one thing keeping me up that also hurts is at the very least before she died she got to know what is love and happiness.

They are just country mouse, but to live like one they are forced to be a city mouse

Another scene that moved me was when aki grabbed angels hand. I really felt it when angel has no motivation to live, wants to die yet clings on and wants to live. and knowing the remaining lifespan of aki he chooses to hold him by his hand.

This movie is a masterclass.

Reze Movie is tragedy in disguise, did the movie make me cry more than I should ?
