Old men choosing to still have kids

Discussion

I am not even fully antinatalist but it is extremely shortsighted to have kids into your 50s, 60s -- I would think, who does that? MY FATHER! I am just 17 and worrying now about when my father is going to die of old age. We've already had the talk and everything, he already discussed with me how much of his business he'll give to which of his children (I have four siblings, of which I am the youngest). He's almost 80 years old, I honestly just can't believe having kids at such an age knowing they're gonna have to deal with a dead father before 20 years old, and it does affirm my belief that majority of parents have children for selfish reasons. I love my dad and the thought of losing him so soon haunts me nowadays.
Like, you're just dooming your kid to a long life of grief and lack of support :/
