[35F] returning to ER to get stitches removed?

The doc at the ER said i could go back there to have my stitches removed. It's only three on the side of my face. He said to wait a week. When i confirmed what he said in question form, he said i could go to some other nearby hospital as well.

My question is it with going to the ER for something so simple as stitch removal? Specifically will there be extra costs since it's an ER visit? I have Medicaid.

I'm also considering removing them myself if there's no swelling or heat on the wound.

The stitches are non dissolvable. Thoughts?
