Transverse babies

Has anyone experienced a transverse baby? My LO was transverse up until the week she was born (on due date). She would show head down (but not in pelvis) at 38 & 40 week ultrasound but then go right back to transverse. She turned during labor but what a stressful experience. I had to prepare for both a home birth & possible c-section during my 3rd trimester. My midwife wanted me to establish a relationship with the hospital obstetrician. She said a planned c-section is better than an emergency c-section.
