Blade champion or Valerian

Hey all, making a list for some tournaments I might do this winter. I don’t use blade champion a lot as I find his lack of a ranged attack hindering in my playstyle.

That being said, I recently looked into possibly swapping valerian for a Blade Champion to run with my warden block.

Should I do it, what are the pros and cons of each.
