N2DSXL prone to failure?

Title, basically. I've heard the N2DSXL is more prone to failure than the others. Is this something I should be realistically concerned with or am I worrying too much?

I take very good care of my devices, never cracked a phone display etc, though I'm assuming the supposed failures associated with the N2DS are more from use rather than dropping it.
