Anyone here used PlaylistOwl? My 10-day test & what I found out

Hey everyone,
I’m an indie musician and lately I’ve been grinding to get more listeners on Spotify. I stumbled across PlaylistOwl and thought I’d share what I found out so you can decide if it’s worth your time.

What is it?

PlaylistOwl describes itself as a “playlist curator contact finder” — you enter a genre or keyword, and it supposedly gives you Spotify playlists and contact details of the curators.
They claim a one-time payment (lifetime access) rather than a monthly subscription.

My experience (10-day test)

  • Day 1: I signed up, typed in a few genre keywords that matched my music. The interface was fairly simple.
  • Days 2-4: I found a list of playlists & curator contacts. Good: It did cut down some of the “hunt time”.
  • Days 5-10: I reached out to a handful of curators. Some didn’t respond. Others did—but not all leads seemed equally potent.
  • Initial listener bump: I got a small uptick in monthly listeners. Hard to say how much was from this tool vs other promotions.
  • And important: One review pointed out a limitation:“PlaylistOwl doesn’t provide any insight into whether a playlist is botted, authentic, growing, or inactive.”

Good & Not-So-Good

👍 Pros:

  • Saves time compared to manually hunting down playlist curators.
  • Lifetime license means you don’t pay every month (if you buy the one-time plan).
  • Useful for indie artists with limited budget & resources.

👎 Cons / Things to check:

  • Because quality indicators (growth, engagement, authenticity) are limited, you’ll still need to vet the playlists carefully. (“Does this playlist really drive real listeners?”)
  • Not guaranteed that every contact leads to a meaningful placement.
  • For some, value may depend on how much you do the outreach and follow-up.

My verdict

I think PlaylistOwl can be worth it if you’re serious about playlist outreach and willing to do the work (craft good pitches, follow up, pick the right playlists). But don’t expect it to be magic. It gives you tools, but results depend a lot on your strategy.

If anyone else here has used it more than 2-3 weeks, I’d love to hear your longer-term results.
