[Question] Anyone else’s baby always look one way? (Worried about torticollis)
Noticed something weird with our 2-month-old daughter — she almost always looks to her right.
She can look left, but rarely does for more than a few seconds.
We’ve read about torticollis but don’t think it’s that bad (yet). Just trying to catch it early before it becomes a problem. Has anyone else dealt with this? What worked for you?
Some dads in our Slack shared this:
- Their pediatrician said it can come from babies keeping their head turned one way while asleep. Rotating sides at night and during diaper changes helped.
- Physical therapy was a big help for a few dads — some only needed a handful of sessions and at-home stretches.
- Tummy time early and often came up over and over.
- One dad mentioned tongue-tie being a surprise contributor that made therapy suddenly start working after it was released.
- A few said it just resolved itself once they started guiding baby’s head the other direction during awake time.
Seems like the big takeaway: be proactive and ask the pediatrician early. Would love to hear what worked for other dads before it got more serious.
(Shared from our Dad Day Slack so these conversations live somewhere longer than 90 days.)
