Old Baseball Collection - Need Advice

My dad was digging through some old boxes and uncovered part of his childhood card collection. It’s a mix of Topps cards from the 1970s and early ’80s. He has a complete 1982 set, along with several 1981 Cramer Sports Baseball Legends cards mixed in. Altogether, the full collection is well over 1000 cards, maybe even upwards of 2000.

I haven’t had the chance to go through everything myself yet, but from what I’ve seen so far, the cards appear to be in pretty solid condition. Some better than others but overall good condition.

Personally, I’m new to collecting & looking for some guidance or first steps in trying to value the collection, determine what’s of value, etc. With a collection this large, we’re not exactly sure where to start. Any input is appreciated!
