I built a dating app because I'm tired of apps that crash and paywall basic features - looking for beta testers
Hey everyone,
I'm a developer and I just finished building Sprung - a dating app that's meant to be an alternative to the broken apps we're all stuck with.
Why I built it:
Most dating apps either crash constantly, spam you with bots, or lock basic features behind paywalls. I got tired of paying $30/month just to see who liked me or send more than 5 messages a day. So I built something myself.
What makes it different:
- No labels - it's for everyone (gay, straight, bi, poly, questioning). You don't have to fit into a box.
- Actually functional - real-time messaging that doesn't lag, profiles that load, no mystery crashes
- Free version that actually works - you shouldn't need to pay just to use basic features
- Safety features that work - blocking, reporting with actual moderation, muting conversations
What I need from you:
I'm looking for beta testers to use the app, break things, and tell me what sucks. This is a real beta - some things might not work perfectly, but I'm actively fixing issues as they come up.
Feedback Incentive:
The 20 most detailed and useful bug reports or feature requests get a $20 Amazon gift card. Not a contest - just appreciation for helping me build something better. Submit through the in-app feedback tool.
Where I'm testing:
Starting in upstate NY (Buffalo, Rochester, Albany) but the app works anywhere. If you're in those areas, even better for matching, but anyone can join.
The reality:
This is one person (me) trying to build something that works. I'm not a billion-dollar company. Your feedback directly shapes what this becomes. If it sucks, tell me. If it works, tell me that too.

Thanks for giving this a shot.
