PC vs. Mac Dilemma: RTX 5070 Ti (12GB VRAM) vs. M4 Max (32GB Unified Memory)

Need Help!

Hello everyone,

I'm facing a dilemma and would love to get your thoughts on this! I'm torn between a laptop with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and a MacBook Pro M4 Max.

The core problem is this: the configuration that fits my budget for the RTX 5070 Ti only offers 12GB of VRAM. I feel like that's a bit low, and I'm concerned about quickly hitting a memory saturation wall on my projects (especially for demanding creative work, 3D, high-res video, etc. - What are you using it for primarily? Please specify in the comments!).

On the other side, there is the MacBook Pro M4 Max. Even with its 32GB of Unified Memory (which is shared between the CPU and GPU), I feel like I'd have better peace of mind regarding overall memory capacity for complex tasks. I know its raw performance is generally lower than a top-tier NVIDIA dedicated GPU, but tests show it still holds its own remarkably well in many professional applications.

What do you all think? • Is 12GB of VRAM on a cutting-edge GPU like the RTX 5070 Ti a significant bottleneck for a budget-conscious configuration today?

• Does the Unified Memory architecture of the M4 Max truly offer a better overall experience and more headroom for large projects than dedicated VRAM, despite the lower raw GPU performance?

• Should I prioritize the sheer processing power of the NVIDIA card or the memory safety/efficiency of the MacBook Pro?

I'm leaning towards the M4 Max for the memory comfort, but the potential performance gap is making me hesitate. Any advice or experiences, especially from creators/pros who've made a similar jump, would be greatly appreciated!
