Day 324 of trying to find a mentor for acoustics
This is partially a rant and partially a cry for help lmao
I'm an architect and have been working in the field for a few years while finishing my masters during which I decided to orient my thesis to architectural acoustics, specifically recording studio design. This is something very unorthodox in my university but I honestly find joy in doing something that hasn't been done a million times such as family housing or a hotel and have been very stubborn to learn as much as possible on my own. My university is a bit notorious in its choice of professors and most of them are pretty useless when doing any kind of research that isn't generic architecture and interior design so I have to do 99% of the work with almost no feedback but it really isn't an issue since I'm using this as a stepping stone to learn as much as I can since the subject genuinely interests me.
That being said, I would love to expand my knowledge in the area and maybe focus my projects to be acoustics oriented in the future but from what I was told, this requires practical experience, which I can't really get on my own.
I've tried contacting literally every acoustician and acoustics firm in my country that I could find asking if they could maybe mentor me but I guess they are either too busy or don't want to spend more time trying to teach someone, which I understand but would love to at least do some kind of partial internship with an acoustician and learn how to do some basic acoustic treatments and measurements which I can combine with my work.
Sorry for the long post, I guess I'm just asking for opinions and maybe directions for my goal.
