Wait to get pregnant or play the waiting game? WWYD?

Infertility/ Pregnancy related

Hi all!

I'm currently thinking about removing my IUD and having a second baby. Everything went fine with my first pregnancy/getting pregnant, so I'm not anticipating any issues on that front. Next month I'll be 18mo postpartum and feel ready to try again.

However, I'm also still awaiting a prior authorization to receive care out of state with an endo specialist to get a yes or no diagnosis. I first started pursuing it in June/July and still haven't heard back yet as to whether or not they'll even cover it. My OB/GYN has picked out the specialist she wants to refer me to but we're waiting on the go ahead from insurance to actually send it out, so the clinic doesn't even know about me yet.

The specialist office is also associated with a larger network of a large research/collegiate hospital. Their main campus is huge and sees a lot of patients so I'm assuming if I schedule with them it will be several months before I get seen.

My question to you is: is it a bad idea to just have a baby? I don't want to deny myself crucial healthcare and I know I'd have to wait until I gave birth to get a diagnostic lap. I don't really know what a specialist would even be able to do for me if they were to treat me while pregnant. If you were in this situation and weren't able to be seen until you were already pregnant, how did that work for you?
