Constant worry something is wrong
I don’t know if I’m alone or not… does anyone else constantly google things that they’ve noticed their baby does or shows or doesn’t show? I know the answer will be that I probably need therapy but do many of you for example- see something your baby has in a physical trait and then google that thing to see if it’s related to any syndrome? I do this a lot and I don’t know why as my baby doesn’t have a ‘syndrome’ of any sort. Example, his epicanthal folds are more pronounced on one eye. We’ve had them checked as it looked like his eye was maybe turning in a bit more than the other - but ophthalmologist said it was just the eye fold giving that appearance and that he’d grow out of them. But now I’m googling everything about them, how common they are etc etc and of course when it pops up that they can be associated with Down syndrome, turner syndrome etc I spiral. My baby is 6 month old and has seen multiple medical professionals and not one single one has said anything that gives us any reason to worry. So why am I doing this to myself? I don’t understand how I can’t just live in the present and be grateful for all of the wonderful things instead of trying to find something wrong. Please be kind xx
