Do you try to avoid running into your ex even if you ended on good terms?

I dont have an ex, so i personally have no idea. This guy I like who im just friends with offered to give me a ride home, so i happily accepted.

Unexpectedly his ex happens to live in the same neighborhood i do and we were both shocked. It was obvious it bothered him.

He put on his hoodie, got nervous, and tried to avoid going near her house. Is this normal to do? Its not a big deal, but im a bit worried that im crushing on someone who might not be over their ex yet. i dont know and im just assuming lol
