The Reality Of Daniel Haqiqatjou
I firstly want to be just and praise brother Daniel for the good work he’s done. He has refuted liberalism, feminism, LGBT ideologies and challenged imams and muslims who adopt modernist framings of Islam. This is definitely something praiseworthy and important as it’s a growing problem in our time. In our religion we are just and give credit where it is due. He’s also debated enemies of Islam including Islamophobic christians, hindus and others and debunked their baseless claims. Again this is something we can say is praiseworthy.
However, in recent times he has begun involving himself in topics on which he appears to be clearly ignorant or at the very least has not studied the material deeply. This matters because when someone with a large audience makes statements on fundamentals such as tawhid, shirk, the status of the dead and so on and gets them wrong then many will be misled. For example he said that imams or deceased righteous people can control the universe in some sense or that making dua to the dead or seeking their help is not necessarily shirk akbar. Yet the Quran and Sunnah repeatedly emphasise we ask Allah alone and nobody else. Everyday we read surah fatiha in Salah multiple times a day ‘iyyāka naʿbudu wa iyāka nastaʿīn’ If someone is confused about the fundamentals then how can we safely take knowledge from him and recommend his content?
Therefore I feel it is our duty to warn brothers and sisters to be cautious of Daniel’s claims. Don’t reject everything he says because he does say useful things but verify every claim especially when it touches upon critical topics like tawheed, shirk and so on. Remember the only unforgivable sin after death is shirk so we must be firm on this.
May Allah guide Daniel and us all and protect us from misguidance. Ameen.
