[Question] How do you survive the daycare germ apocalypse?
How do y’all handle the influx of daycare germs entering your house… or are we just screwed for the next few years?
I almost never get sick, but since our daughter started daycare in August, it’s been one thing after another. Sinus infection right now. Before that, colds, hand-foot-mouth, you name it.
I take zinc, magnesium, and a few supplements daily, but it hasn’t slowed the onslaught. Any tips or supplements that actually help, or do we just accept this is the season of our lives?
Some dads in our Slack said:
- Expect 1–2 years of chaos, then your immunity levels up (apparently).
- Daycare kids get sick early but end up bulletproof by kindergarten.
- Vitamin D, K2, zinc, elderberry gummies, and nasal sprays were popular go-tos.
- One dad swears by Paleo Valley Organ Complex and Seed probiotic.
- Another said: “You’re going to cough for eight months straight. Get a good hand cream.”
Seems like everyone agrees this phase sucks, but it’s part of the deal. Would love to hear what worked for your family — supplements, routines, immune hacks, anything.
