I can color correct, but I get lost when it’s time to grade how do you approach the creative part?

I’ve learned the basics of color correction white balance, exposure, scopes, etc. I can get a clean corrected image, but once I reach grading I get lost. Even when I have a vibe in mind (warm, cold, moody, etc.), I don’t know where to start should I touch contrast first, exposure, or color? How do you approach the creative part after correction?
