Am I Overreacting for getting $50 as my birthday gift from my rich father?
Let me start off by saying that I (24F) am definitely selfish for thinking this way. I do have a full time job and make decent money.
However, I do not make nearly as much as my father did (he was technically laid off last year with no work responsibilities, but continued being paid until this August if that tells you anything). He is in the tech field so he was easily making over 200k salary plus stocks given, which he also complained was not a high enough salary. He has 2 houses, one which he is using as a rental.
I did not get any other birthday gift for him. I asked specifically for cash, so when he sent it to me I was kind of in shock because I know how much he’s worth financially. Again I get that I’m being selfish but it proportionally just feels weird. Am I overreacting? Should I just be grateful for what he gave me?
