Has anyone quit the rat race?

Essentially that. Currently commuting in to London 45 minutes, on 85k salary. Working in asset management. Partner is in the same position. 1 child.

Honestly, it’s exhausting. There’s no work life balance, I’m not seeing my child. I’m starting to question why earning this money is worth it, I don’t think it’s a salary high enough to justify missing out on my son’s childhood.

Has anyone had any success in moving out of London and getting fully remote roles or lite hybrid, and keeping a good salary? Can they give me any context as to what the job search looked like?
