Replacement for Tom Ford Costa Azzurra Acqua

I’ve posted a couple times in the daily and haven’t had a response so making a seperate post.

TLDR; need a replacement for TF CAA, looking for citrusy, green with woody and musk undertones and potentially some aquatic notes, 30+ want something for serious meetings but also a little sex appeal.

TF CAA has been my signature frag for quite some time, that frag that each time you or anyone else smells on you instantly goes that’s your scent.

Now that it’s discontinued I’m looking for a replacement but really struggling to find anything that gives me that same feeling and I’m maybe now just chasing a ghost of my past.

Here’s a list of what I’ve smelled so far and a couple thoughts for each to maybe hopefully help with recommendations.

• TF Costa Azzurra edp/parfum - edp not too bad but a little too spice forward for me, parfum just a straight no, far too floral and feminine on me. • TF Neroli Portofino - instantly just didn’t enjoy this one, I’m thinking I’m potentially not overly into neroli scents • YSL Y edp/edt - edp lasted longer but maybe a little too young for me and edt I think was potentially a little nicer, but again it was too young. • bvlgari aqva marine - a little too much marine/aquatic • bvlgari glacial essence - smelt like toilet spray • Versace Dylan Blue - not sure what it was but really didn’t enjoy this one. • ADG profondo edp - wasn’t bad but maybe a little on the sweeter side • ADG parfum 2024 - this is probably my favourite so far, not a signature scent but certainly one I would wear • L’eau bleue d’issey pour homme - a bit too floral for my liking • Hugo Boss Bottled Bold Citrus - nice opening, heavy citrus but not off putting, dry down became spice heavy and leant more into a colder months frag

Honourable mention, Drakker noir pre recipe change I enjoyed but it’s no longer the same.

I have a feeling there’s potentially something in the TF DNA that tickles my fancy and that’s why I’m struggling but one thing I have found is I seem to be looking for something that’s a little citrusy, green with some slightly more woody musk undertones and a hint of those aquatic notes.

I’m yet to try Bleu de Chanel as I haven’t been able to find a sample in store but it is on my list.

This is going to be a gift from my partner for my 30th and I think it’d be nice to have something that when she smells me gives her that same wow factor CAA did.
