Do a lot of people die from diabetes in your country?

In Mexico diabetes is very common, recently a lot of people i know have been diagnosed and fallen to diabetes. I’d like to know if this is common where you are from.

A lot of people drink liters of Coca cola on a daily or eat lots of unhealthy snacks and sweets. Some people are ignorant of the health complications this brings. Others just dont have better options due to economic hardships. It really saddens me.
