Fact Finding Hearing - how do I cope?
Not sure if this is the right place so please redirect me if another subreddit would be more appropriate.
I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. For context I live in the UK.
J (40m) and I (30f) separated for the final time almost 4 years ago following a 6 year relationship. However through the children, I am still controlled by his continued abuse. I have also been diagnosed with PTSD.
Following a violent incident involving the children in the summer, social services advised me to withhold contact (the police conducted a joint social services interview) and I made an application to the court. My youngest told them everything but my eldest clammed up and unfortunately didn’t cooperate the story.
It’s quite likely the court are going to want to have a finding of fact hearing about the abuse I suffered. In the statement of allegations I have over 100 allegation which I have found extremely traumatic to relive. How on earth am I meant to be questioned about the abuse. I feel sick just thinking about it.
Any advice would be extremely helpful.
Thank you for reading ☺️
