Trying to sort out my first proper chip set

I'm thinking about getting some proper chips after me and my girlfriend had a lot of fun with this dumb 100 chip plastic amazon set that i got for like €10. We dont really have anyone to play with, but im still thinking ill buy a set of 300 so i have some for later if we find people to play with. Im looking at the composite clay vegas poker club as i like the classic chip style and cause theyre cheaper than something like the monte carlo chips (which i want to get some day).

Im reading a lot about 1889 and 18xx and dont understand any of that, do i need to understand it before i get my first chip set?

Also, do i go for like 4 denoms and more chips or do i go for something like 7 denoms for range? I'd also like to be able to play blackjack with these chips as i quite enjoy that, is there anything i need to consider for that?

Is there any deficit in going for denoms like 0,1-0,5-2-10-50 over something like 25-100-500-1000-5000? I quite like the colors of the lower denoms and theres something about the whole "cash game" thing that i just find alluring, rather than these sky high denoms that dont reflect "actual money" or whatever.
