Can you make serious money on the EU or Nordic markets?

Wondering because my portfolio is currently like 5k, and making trades on the US markets has kinda rediculous fees. (Nordnet or through my bank, I live in the nordics. And I’m using these, as I dont want to manually deal with calculating taxes)

I know its impossible to have such gains the US market/stocks have since the US market has dominated for decades. But I’m curious if its at all viable to become financially independent through investing/trading in the EU/nordic markets. Or at least fairly quickly grow my porfolio enough so the fees make sense/are worth it investing on the US market.

Of course there’s also the global political climate that kinda makes me want to diversify some/a lot outside the US.
