Where did we stop? Oh yeah…I was going to my parents’ to demand for some answers. (Please refer to the link to catch up if you’re new to this story)

When I got there, it was only mom. She’s been doing the shop keeping alone for the last few years. I told her about Robinah and asked that the lies stopped. I was entitled to the truth about where the bank money went. She simply said she was scammed, gave some of the money to my dad to start farming in the village😭 and that that was why he’s always away. He’s farming. I didn’t believe her.

I expressed my disappointment because where was that money going to come from if the shop was empty? My name was on that loan. I was scared. She started crying. I took a walk and called the adult brothers. By the end of the call, we’d agreed that this business works and that it can pay off that loan if well managed. Problem though, there was only 2,040,000 worth of inventory at this time, zero cash and the 5th installment was due in a few days. I wanted to cry.

Anyway, I went back and told her to go home and rest. The financial pressure was taking a toll on her. We agreed that I was taking over the business and that she should tell the father. They’d consider the loan money I gave them as their buy out, I’d take over all their payables (over 55m) and I’d cover her basic living expenses including school fees for the youngest.

Brother 1 (Andrew) is a lawyer who would make for us a sales agreement. Brother 2 (Derrick) is a part time accountant and works only 3 days a week so he’d help me on those days he wasn’t in office because I had another business to run. It was officially a family problem. We was going to sell that stock, pay the 1.6m installment on 25th June and see how to proceed. All the creditors would henceforth deal with me. I was the new boss. I’d just bought a collapsing business and so I’d pay them mpola mpola but didn’t want pressure. After all, I personally owed nobody except equity bank.

Thank you for reading. I’ve skipped many things in order to be brief but I’ll be in the comments if something is not clear. Please feel free to ask.
