Navigating Marketplace as a Family

Plan Choice Suggestions

So, my spouse was recently let go at a job that had decent insurance and they covered the premiums 100%. So it was a big blow for us, especially considering that I am 9 months pregnant with our first. I am still on my mom’s insurance until the end of the year. I was supposed to join their health insurance for next year. My spouse just started a new job, and they are allowing us to enroll during their open enrollment to start benefits on 1/1/26.

The premiums are $293.72/month for just them. My spouse and I is $974.64. The family plan is $1485.33. The annual salary from the job is $73.5k. I don’t have any income right now as SAHM/homesteader. With the ACA subsidies, technically the employer contribution makes the individual plan affordable, but the family plans are not.

Trying to figure out the best/most cost effective way to get insured. I know that we will qualify for special enrollment once the baby is born, but just trying to figure things out ahead of time. Any help is appreciated.
