Free Parking for USC Trojans Mens Basketball vs. Manhattan Jaspers Mens Basketball at Galen Center (Los Angeles 11/09)

hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking tips for the game on saturday since it can be a real headache. hope this helps you guys out.

if you're trying to do it for free, there's some street parking around 3400 S Figueroa St. honestly, you'll have to get there insanely early to snag a spot and even then you have to read all the signs super carefully for weird restrictions on game days. its a long shot but it is an option if you have the time to kill.

personally i've started using this app called Prked. it lets you rent someones private driveway or garage right next to the Galen Center. its way cheaper than the official lots and you get to park in a reserved spot that's just a short walk away. the best part is skipping all the traffic chaos getting into the main structures before the game and then getting trapped in them after.

if you want to go the official route, usc has the McCarthy Way, Figueroa, Royal Street, and Shrine structures. they open up two hours before the game starts. be ready to pay at least $20 and its all cashless now so you have to use your phone to pay. they are convenient but they fill up and the traffic getting out is a nightmare. they literally shut down streets like Figueroa and Exposition after the game to force everyone directly onto the 110 freeway, so you're stuck in that line no matter what.

you can try to find other street parking further away but its tough with all the permit zones and time limits. i wouldn't really risk it unless you know the area well.

a really solid option is just taking the Metro. the E line (expo) drops you off right at the jefferson/usc station which is basically at the galen center. you dont have to worry about traffic or parking at all.

just a couple other things to remember, the galen center has a clear bag policy and your tickets are all mobile now. doors open an hour before the game.
