Problem neighbors
I’m not sure if I’ve used the right flair, but I’m definitely emotional and I do realize that most people aren’t bothered by door slamming or weird kids. So maybe this is an internal problem.
This is a letter I’m considering giving my neighbor, in her native language. I don’t know how well her English is. She acts extremely confused when I deliver packages to her house. Would it be weird to ask her if she’s fluent in English? If she says no give the letter, if she says yes, try and talk it out?
I’m also wondering if I should tackle one problem at a time as I’ve got two. Or just leave it completely alone.
I won’t go into a full detailed introduction, because I think it’s pretty clear from the letter what’s going on.
But a bit of extra details, I did slam my front door multiple times the other night, while screaming “Why do you need to slam your door?, People who slam doors are trashy”, stuff like that. Ugh, ha. It was a mental break.
Here goes:
“Your child has some weird obsession with me and it needs to stop. He has stuck out his tongue and danced at me. I spoke to “” about it, and I thought it would stop. When you and your visitors were slamming your door constantly the other night, I opened my door to see what was going on. Your child looked at me as if I was a monster, he looked terrified. He told the other children in the neighborhood that me and my husband are child abductors. He told them that we steal children in our van. I think you know that this is ridiculous. My husband has spent £10,000 for me to live here. I did not give up my life in America to come here and commit crime. I do not appreciate how your child is acting towards me. Me and my husband need to interact with your family as we deliver parcels. We are stuck living here as we are in debt for my immigration. I do not want to spend the rest of my time here having your child give me dirty looks. It’s getting really old. We all have to live here together. I did go a little crazy the other night because I am very sick. The door slamming from your flat didn’t used to be a problem, but when I’m bedridden, stuck here, I’ve had to listen to it for an entire month. The person below you does the same thing, I’m aware. The woman downstairs is so bad I have to wear headphones all day. I just wish everyone could respect the fact that we all live in one building. There are two people who live in this building who are very ill, and I’m one of them. We are tired. And if I accidentally catch a glimpse of your child, he gives me dirty looks. I’m just in my flat being a wife, trying to recover from surgery. I’m not doing anything to anyone.”
I’m wondering also if it’s too dramatic, or too long. Honestly, I feel better just typing it all out. This might just be the end of it for me. It’s been a little quieter since my outburst, ha. But I don’t think this kid is gonna quit.
