Do you keep telling yourself you will do something an not do it? READ THIS
I used to think I was just lazy or bad at managing time. Every time I looked at my long list of tasks which i kept convincing myself ill complete, I didn't feel productive; I just felt this crushing anxiety. I’d end up staring at my phone, completely frozen by the sheer amount of things I should be doing. It’s not your fault. It's psychology.
That giant list isn't a plan; it's a pile of "opn loops," and there’s a principle called the Zeigarnik Effect that makes every unfinished task scream for your attention at once. Your brain is getting drained by remembering everything, not by doing anything. The solution is not more willpower. It's the "Single Task" Rule.
It completely changed my work flow. You stop fighting a mountain and start conquering one tiny hill at a time. The whole goal is to stop relying on motivation and start getting the satisfying closure of finishing things.
I can’t cram the entire simple system—how to empty your brain into a "Backlog" and just pick your "One Task"—into this short post, so here is the full guide: The single task rule: Why your to-do list is failing you
P.s, the article goes into a bit more depth of what i discused in this post but mainly on how to implement it.
I hope this post motivated someone :)
