Free Parking for UCLA Bruins Mens Basketball vs. West Georgia Wolves Mens Basketball at Pauley Pavilion (Los Angeles 11/10)
hey figured i'd share some parking tips for the game on monday since finding a spot can be a headache around ucla.
so if you're looking for free parking, your best bet is trying to find street parking in westwood village, like on gayley or broxton. honestly, it's a bit of a gamble. most of those spots are 2-hour meters and they are super strict about ticketing, especially during events. you might find a spot on a side street but pay close attention to the signs for restrictions and street cleaning. it's a decent walk, maybe 15-20 minutes depending on where you end up.
i found this app called Prked that's been a game changer. people who live right next to pauley pavilion rent out their driveways and garage spots. it's way cheaper than the official ucla lots and you can reserve a spot ahead of time. the best part is you skip the insane traffic jam trying to get out of the big parking structures after the game. you just walk a few minutes and you're gone.
if you want to park on campus, the main lots are 4, 7, and 8. they're right there, but it'll cost you about $15. my advice is to get there early, like at least an hour before the game starts, because traffic getting into those lots from sunset or wilshire is always rough and they can fill up. getting out of lot 4 after a game is the worst, you can be stuck in there for a long time.
another strategy is to park in one of the public lots in westwood village. they charge, but it's sometimes a little cheaper than the ucla lots. from there it’s a nice walk through the village and up bruin walk to get to the arena. just be prepared for the crowds.
whatever you do, give yourself plenty of time. the 405 is always a mess and the streets around campus get really clogged on game nights. trying to show up 20 minutes before tip-off is a recipe for missing the start of the game.
hope this helps and go bruins
