These are my uniform concepts for a Chicago Maroons reset.

OVR: 73 - OFF: 76 - DEF: 71

Roster type: Cupcake

School type: Smart School

Stadium: Soldier Field

The Maroons won 7 Big Ten titles back in the day, and were serious rivals with Michigan and Illinois. Now they play in Division 3.

Fun fact: The reason the Arizona Cardinals are named as such is because they began in Chicago, and were donated jerseys from the University of Chicago which, over a couple years, faded to more of a “Cardinal” red.

I want to bring the Maroons back, likely start them out in the MAC (though Northern Illinois moved conferences, so I may follow them instead to start a new rivalry). Eventually, I’d like to build them into a B1G program.

*DISCLAIMER -* Across every jersey you’ll see 4 stars on the collar - these are the 4 stars from Chicago’s city flag, wanted to incorporate them as a nod to the historic football city. I’ve also included them as a ‘pride sticker’ look on the home and away helmets!

**HOME/AWAY**

I wanted to focus on a more traditional look for the home and away fits, I added a maroon C to the home shoulder stripes, and a white C to the away ones, which I thought added a uniqueness to the stripe combo. I’ll alternate pant colours between white/maroon.

**4STAR HOME/AWAY**

Leaning into the stars a bit more, I imagined this maroon and black look that gave a more modern, tough feel. I think these jerseys will be ideal for rivalry games/night games.

I worked the star patterns into a shoulder stripes, gave them a bit of a shadow effect.

I initially had 4 stars down the middle of the helmet as well as a stripe, but don’t want to overkill it with the stars lol…

**4THECITY**

Bonus fun fact: The Chicago Maroons also produced the first ever Heisman Trophy Winner - Jay Berwanger.

I was torn between a throwback jersey commemorating his time there, and a Chicago-flag inspired ALT - as you can see, I went with the latter.

I went with a chromed out helmet, I think it contrasts the uniform nicely - it’s also a special occasion when we wear these (once a season), and the chrome reflects that (literally, lol) Chicago’s 4 stars act as a middle stripe, surrounded by 2 sky blue stripes, just like the flag.

I also added a Chicago skyline silhouette to one side of the helmet, **(see slide 10)** chrome blue - red numbers on the other side. Really like how that turned out.

Went minimal with the jersey, representing the Chicago sky blue and red you’ll find on the flag.

The pants include the flag-inspired stripe pattern used on the helmet.

**THOUGHTS?**

Spent a lot of time thinking out this concept. Would love some feedback on what you guys think!
