Have you ever had a parent hate you during a divorce
So I won’t really get too deep into the details but, I am 22 and my parents divorce has been going on for about a year. I guess over this year my mom has grown more malicious towards me? I can’t blame for the financial stress this divorce has had, the game playing of my dad with tons of legal loopholes and etc. Extending something that shouldn’t take too long to a year.
We’re not even rich, far from it. I feel like my mom has started to hate me. She mostly identifies me as a “setback.” When I am not? I go to college, I have a part time job, I pay for my own phone, I pay for my own food, I pay for my own gas and such. I even try to help out with paying for our dinners too and I do my own laundry. At least like once every two weeks she tells me how nice having my own place would be. But I don’t have the money to move out. Because my money goes to her for rent and my own necessities.
I also think she has this fantasy of moving out, ditching me and my brother (who is in prison) to live with her rich bf. She thinks I have it out for him but I just think his a freeloader that doesn’t help with dishes and is also a cheapskate. She also really hates our dogs. I think mostly because they represent my dad I guess. Constantly having them locked up and away from her and her bf.
I really don’t know what I can do to really not make her angry? I suspect she has bpd because anything sets her off. I even actively avoid her during her lunch break because she (god knows why) has the urge to clean and do errands during her lunch. I don’t even text her on the days I work because thats her bf time and he hates phones. I really don’t know what a homeboy like me can even do y’know? She won’t do family therapy either.
