Hi fellow Fitsters!

Proud and only owner of Roadrunner, a 2009 Honda Fit Sport 5 speed manual transmission with 153,500 miles on her. (Yes, she’s named Roadrunner cuz of the higher pitched horn sounding like the “meep meep” the roadrunner in the cartoons makes 😊) I love my car and while I know I’m running on borrowed time I’m still trying to keep her as long as I can. I also don’t have much money to fix major problems or buy something newer so I’m kinda stuck with her regardless. Lol!

Anywho, this weekend I went to start her to go out and couldn’t get out of my driveway. 😭 The car shifts perfectly fine when it’s off. However, once she’s running and you engage the clutch, you can’t put the car into gear… it feels like I’m hitting a brick wall if I try to shift and I can hear/feel the gears grinding when I try to give it a little more push to get there (I know better than to force it and stopped when I heard the start of grinding). The clutch feels normal when the car is off, but when it’s running the clutch feels softer than usual and also feels like it’s sticking to the floor for a bit before popping back up with some force to it instead of smoothly gliding into place like it should. The clutch fluid is full and I don’t see any leaks on my driveway. What could the problem be? How expensive would this be to fix and is it even worth it at this point? I’m financially strapped for cash right now so am trying to troubleshoot and fix what I can at home first so whatever suggestions y’all have and/or experiences with similar issues to help me out would be greatly appreciated! (Pic of my pup enjoying her time in the Roadrunner included for attention.)
