Do NOT be frugal for any health related issues
When your doctor tells you/a family member to do XYZ tests, do not ignore them. Get a second/third opinion if you have to, but do not dismiss them saying "doctors just want to drain your money". Hopefully most of the time the tests will return negative results, and you should be happy about it and not worry about money.
You might not have the money, I completely understand. That's why you need to get the best (not necessarily the most expensive) health insurance. Ideally one that covers annual health checkups.
PLEASE get a full body checkup atleast once a year, even if you're completely healthy, regardless of your age. Even if you feel you're fine. There are a lot of diseases where you won't feel the symptoms until it's too late.
I have seen too many deaths amongst my friends and relatives, and potentially a lot could've been avoided with early tests and diagnostics.
If you care about your life and that of your close ones, do not dismiss doctors, they know more than us. And please get the best health insurance possible even though it might cost more than the cheapest.
Do not trust free government treatment. I lost my aunt through that.
It's hard to pick a good health insurance though since there are a lot of hidden terms and conditions (my family became prey to this as well). So I'd say before buying one, research a lot and maybe ask on other subreddits. The best one isn't necessarily the most expensive, but always make sure to read the T&C before purchasing one.
