I need therapy but I'm scared of not paying my therapist fairly and just of everything financial that has to do with therapy in general
I'm going to start out with saying that I am currently financially dependent on my parents and have relatively not much autonomy over my life and what happens in it >!I hate talking or mentioning my age online but it's important for context, I'm 17 (and american with no license, no credit card, no anything) so it's practically impossible for me to make any big decisions on my own.!< (censored for my own comfort) so if (for fucks sake HOPEFULLY WHEN not just if) I get therapy it won't be me paying for it.
Regardless, thinking about going to therapy and having them just deal with my BS and me in general and not getting paid a good amount of cash for it makes me feel like shit. I already feel like shit over the thought of making my parents involved in my own crap and making them have to worry about it on top of everything else they have to worry about. I've been worried about how I'm going to pay them back for my entire adolescence, and the fact I'm willingly making them have to pay for something specifically for me like therapy just makes me feel even more like shit. I just feel like such a leech, and I hate it, and I feel like I'll be the same thing to my therapist, even if it's their job. And I know some insurances cover therapy, but that still makes me feel like shit because then it's like I'm going in "for free," and that just sounds so unfair to my therapist.
Again I just feel like such a leech; I've taken from my parents my entire life without giving anything back in return and now I feel like it's going to be the same thing with my therapist and that makes me so upset.
I just hate needing help so badly because I'm not worth the resources anyone and give me, and there's nothing i can give in return. What am I supposed to do?
