Vet killed my $5000 dog

Location: Georgia Long story short took my 2 year old dog to the emergency vet, they spent more time fighting me to make more payments on top of the one I made when I first walked through the door. My dog died in the back alone and they wouldn’t let me see him. I spoke with my regular vet who was closed that day and she disagreed with how they handled the situation and told me she’s heard many horror stories about this place. This vet office also has many bad reviews similar to mine, but of course I regret not checking those since I was in a rush to get my dog to the closest vet. I believe my dog was already dead and that is why the main vet was in the front arguing with me instead of in the back with my dog, trying to get us to pay for overnight boarding and care and telling us our dog would die without the overnight care. The vet techs previously had said our dog was doing fine so we were chocked by the main vet coming out saying our dog will soon die unless we paid 2k. We wanted our dog back to take him to another place or see how he was but he refused to show us our dog or return our dog because he was typing on the computer and printing out new bills. A vet tech came out to tell us our dog is dead and as we cried over our dog that just an hour ago was still responding and able to walk the vet made a comment about “he died because you guys refusing to pay for treatment” and as we continued to cry the vet tech informed us we had a balance still due and tried to get us to pay through them to get him cremated at their fancy private facility.

Should I go through magistrate or civil court for this? Since I won’t have a lawyer.
