Do not update your AMD BIOS to AGESA 1.2.0.3g if you do overclock

My gaming performance has declined by 10–15% after upgrading to AGESA 1.2.0.3g. The VSOC voltage is now capped at 1.30V following the ASRock-gate incidents. The funny thing is, synthetic benchmark results remain unchanged. AMD’s engineers clearly know what they’re doing. However, I always keep an FPS baseline for several games.🙂

I was previously running SMU version 98.78.0 and had zero issues with excellent performance. Unfortunately, I can’t revert to the older BIOS because AMD prevents downgrades, and the new BIOS has also updated the CPU microcode, so there’s no way back.

The only workaround to restore the same level of performance is to disable CCD1 and SMT on the CPU. It really doesn't worth doing it for 16 Cores CPU. I’ve since switched to my spare motherboard and 9800X3D that I bought a while ago. Just a heads-up, be aware of this issue.
